Trust as a Category of Political Analysis

Abstract

The article is based on an interdisciplinary analysis of one of the most important categories of social science knowledge - trust. Paying tribute to the confidence in the interpretation of psychological and sociological paradigm, the author focused on political science aspect of the interpretation of the category of trust. The article describes the use of the category of trust in political analysis. The author aims to put the definition of political science research tasks, which is built on the studied categories. The paper stated that the credibility of the government gives it greater resources to the implementation of these policies. Confidence is directly incorporated into the mechanism of legitimation of power, forming a social base of maintaining the institutions of power. Confidence should be characterized as one of the factors that support the integrity and stability of society as a whole. From the standpoint of political science theory of the category of trust can be viewed from the perspective of a variety of approaches: institutional, political and cultural, from the perspective of social capital. According to the institutional approach is an element of trust in the internal institutional environment is an important part of the theory of effective management in the country. In accordance with the political-cultural approach trust acts result of political culture and political regimes, addressing the basis of the outcome and the political order. Theories of social capital treat the trust as a socio-political value, which can be exchanged for other useful for the citizen or the public good. Finally, the article concludes that political trust is one of the most important factors that determine the stability, sustainability and efficiency of the political system of the society as a whole.
