Ontogenesis of the Architectural Periodical Press of the Soviet Era (1917–1931)

Abstract

The article studies the development of the architectural periodicals of the Soviet period. Particular attention is accentuated on the chronological interval: 1917–1931. Conceptual dominants, reflecting the importance of the topic in the modern discourse of the development of architectural and bibliographic sciences, are defined. The author’s periodization of the development of Soviet architectural periodicals is proposed. The journals of the given time are described. Their main component, target and reader purpose, etc. are identified. The social and professional weight of the problem in the historical and cultural context is indicated.
